Israel rejects global criminal war crimes investigation.

According to the International News Agency, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, said in a statement that the investigation into Israel’s war crimes in Palestine. It would be conducted independently, impartially, and without fear or favor.

Fatou Bensouda added that Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip in 2019. And Israeli settlement activities in the West Bank provide solid justification for investigating war crimes against Israel.

On the other hand, Israel has rejected the start of the International Criminal Court’s war crimes investigation. Saying that the court does not have the authority to take any action against Israel because it is not a member.

Last month, the International Criminal Court ruled that Israel had jurisdiction over the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

The war killed 2,251 Palestinians, for the most part, regular citizens, and 74 on the Israeli side, a large portion of whom were fighters.

The ICC has additionally inspected savagery along the Israel-Gaza line in 2018.

Israel isn’t the solitary country that will not join the ICC. Russia, China, and Israel’s key partner, the United States, are among the states dismissing the body’s position. A year ago, previous White House public safety counselor John Bolton took steps to capture ICC judges in the event. That they moved against Israel or the United States.

Bottom Line

The judges added that their decision was based on the principles of the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court documents. And did not require any attempt to define state or legal boundaries.

It is clear that Israel has a history of atrocities during its 54-year illegal occupation of Palestine. Furthermore, has increased Jewish settlements in defiance of international agreements. The largest increase being during Netanyahu’s rule.
